ICP 1153 - Analysis of Teaching & Learning

This course provides an overview of the teaching/learning process for new instructors. Basic instructional skills required to be successful in the classroom at a college level are introduced, developed, demonstrated,and analyzed. Participants will develop an understanding of the learner and the learning process. Opportunities to reflect on teaching experiences and to continue developing and refining instructional skills are provided.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Consider opportunities to equitably utilize technology to enhance or blend instruction.
  2. Apply adult learning principles in the design and delivery of lessons.
  3. Engage in reflection and/or classroom observations to gain insight into professional practice.
  4. Explore and analyze teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners.
  5. Define Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and discuss potential research questions.
