You can create your own flashcard decks or download/share other people’s decks. ANKI can be used to help you engage in active recall, which teaches your brain to remember a term, concept or process without context clues. Flashcards are an incredibly versatile study tool and prove to be very useful and can aid in memorization of material when needed.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1593097798745{padding-right: 25px !important;padding-left: 25px !important;background-color: #eeeeee !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]

MATERIALS
You’ll need a computer or mobile device to use ANKI, and an internet connection to download and install the app.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
PREP
Downloading and installing the app is super easy and can be done via ANKI’s website, apps.ankiweb.net, or whichever app store is on your device.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1591030488660{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”The Process” heading_tag=”h1″ main_heading_color=”#090a0f” alignment=”left”][/ultimate_heading][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]ANKI is a great tool to use alongside other materials to learn/remember a lot of “stuff” in a relatively short amount of time. I recommend taking some time to learn how to use ANKI before using it for a specific purpose like studying for a test. There are a lot of really good YouTube videos and tutorials online to help you use the app to its fullest potential.
There is a fairly extensive ANKI community online: ankiweb.net/shared/decks/. You can download and share decks of flashcards within this community. However, making your own decks is an incredibly valuable study activity. Creating your own decks allows you to teach yourself the material and think about how to best organize the material. In doing so, you’ll get to know the content you’re studying more intimately than you would if you were just memorizing “meaningless” facts.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1595432925086{padding-right: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][bsf-info-box icon_type=”custom” icon_img=”id^2574|url^https://learninginnovation.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/current-micro.png|caption^null|alt^null|title^current-micro|description^null” img_width=”48″ title=”Resource” heading_tag=”h5″][/bsf-info-box][vc_column_text]This video is a pretty good introduction to creating and organizing decks, as well as just an introduction to how to use ANKI effectively. There are a lot of different ways to make ANKI a collaborative effort.
ANKI also supports adding images, audio, and even video to your flashcards if it helps your learning.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][vc_separator][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][ultimate_heading main_heading=”References” heading_tag=”h1″ main_heading_color=”#090a0f” alignment=”left”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]ANKI website: Anki.
