ICP 1152 - Learning theory & instructional techniques

Learning theory will be explored and applied to instructional planning, delivery, and assessment. A variety of instructional techniques will also be introduced, developed and demonstrated including technology mediated strategies to accommodate a variety of learning styles. The effectiveness of various instructional techniques will be analyzed.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Explain educational theories and their influence on the teaching-learning process.
  2. Integrate learning theory into instructional planning, delivery, and assessment.
  3. Analyze instructional strategies to accommodate a variety of learners.
  4. Align technology use to pedagogical practices.
  5. Evaluate instructional strategies and the appropriateness of the strategy for the learner profile, content, and skill area.
